Towards New Vistas

An abstract expressionist painting that maybe hints at a landscape?

The main blue colour is contrasted with a rich burgundy. Light glazes with subtle colour notes contrast with the main strong colours and add depth and interest on closer inspection.

Study the surface and take note of all the layering and depth, that add to the story of this painting.

Angular marks offset the looseness in parts of the painting.

This painting was given a 'Special Merit' award in the LightSpaceTime September 2019 Open Competition.
